terms & conditions

Beetroot proofreading strongly advises all clients to read these terms and conditions before accepting the service, whatever that may be, and furthermore shall agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set forth below. No variation will be accepted.

Beetroot proofreading agrees to treat all the client’s material supplied for proofreading or any other purpose as strictly confidential and shall not use the information other than for the purposes of its business. Beetroot proofreading further agrees not to disclose, publish or otherwise reveal any of the information received to any third party whatsoever except with the specific prior written authorisation of the client.

Beetroot proofreading may use the client’s name and and comments made by the client in any promotional materials/testimonials unless the client requests otherwise.

Beetroot proofreading takes the utmost care with every assignment accepted. It is conceivable that on occasion errors will be missed even though a high level of proficiency has been applied. In each case, having exercised such care, beetroot proofreading shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising by such proofreading. Furthermore, beetroot proofreading cannot be held responsible for any problems or consequential loss or costs to the client arising as a result of delays by the post; document transmission and correction; computer failure; or errors in the original document be they grammatical or factual; this also includes copyright infringement. The ultimate responsibility lies solely with the client in every case.

Beetroot proofreading may work to an hourly rate, page rate or on a flat rate basis or per 1000 words. If, however, it becomes apparent that the fee is insufficient to allow the work to be completed to the required standard, beetroot proofreading reserves the right to renegotiate the fee or tailor the remaining work to the budget.

Any expenses, such as postage and telephone usage that are not covered by the fee, will also be charged. If additional tasks are requested by the client, beetroot proofreading may renegotiate the fee and/or the deadline.

The agreed deadline is dependent on the work being sent to beetroot proofreading on or before the agreed start date. If the work is provided later than was originally agreed by both parties, beetroot proofreading reserves the right to revise the completion date accordingly.

Should a client cancel the contract after work has commenced, beetroot proofreading reserves the right to charge for any work already undertaken.
